Brands R Us
27
Jun 2021
Our main domain marketplace site is still under construction, so it’s still difficult to direct people to categories of our names for sale; that in mind, I’ve thrown together a list of what I think are our greatest Brands or Brandables. Without boasting I know we definitely measure up to big sites like BrandBucket, BrandPa, etc. Just look. GREAT BRANDABLES Auros.com Donde.com Massagers.com Expree.com Twenty.com GoRewards.com Licit.com Ambia.com –> Read More
Brandmo
24
May 2021
There’s a new branding service for domain-seekers and sellers, called Brandmo.com. Joseph Carroll, their representative, has posted on NamePros Forum to offer domainers opportunities to list their names. It has several attractive advantages to it that put it in a better light to me than BrandBucket and some of the other big brand marketplaces, so I’ll list some of them that I see. For one, they don’t take –> Read More
Animal Domains List
19
Mar 2021
Bob Hawkes, of his own site NameTalent and regular poster on NamePros, spent some space today to talk about animal domains — both pure dictionary words, and 2 or more words. He presented some of the sky-high prices of those one-word names that were for sale, so I went looking for one-word animal names that were actually developed into sites. Not so many, as it turns out. But –> Read More
Trends That Might Be 2021
15
Jan 2021
During 2020, the pandemic and all it has wrought, there were a few trends I’ve noticed that others haven’t necessarily mentioned. I suspect they’ll continue. Casino and betting domains. Sales were really strong and I believe there will be another year of higher-than-usual sales. Hand crafts, especially old skills like sewing, crocheting, knitting, cooking, carving, weaving, dyeing, shoemaking, millinery, and on & on. Youtube has a bunch of –> Read More

Domains Industry 2020
29
Dec 2020
While the world suffered in this pandemic, how people managed their lives and how they acquired needed goods changed profoundly. The large-scale movement to online shopping made 2020 a spectacular year for online businesses and therefore for domain sellers specifically. Perhaps other domain sellers did well with premium consumer goods-related names, but we found our gambling names to do the best, instead. In fact, over 78% of earnings –> Read More
Domains The Big Tech Companies Register
24
Nov 2020
Because we own a number of tech and industrial domains, I thought it would be useful to analyze exactly what domains are owned by some of the big tech/industrial corporations. The RobbiesBlog lists posted regularly on Domaining.com are often of very significant companies with regard to this aim, so I tired my eyes out by taking a close look at the GE (General Electric) list. I’m really impressed –> Read More
Random (Brandable) Thoughts
05
Nov 2019
He that hath wife and children hath given hostages to fortune — Francis Bacon He that hath registered domains hath given hostages to fortune. —- Gigadomains Brandables may be the domains which are most subject to the vicissitudes of evolving meaning (or usage). A meme or fad that falls flat can doom a domain containing it faster than… I hesitate to make some clever attempt at analogy. And –> Read More
DropCatch’s Collection
01
Aug 2019
DropCatch seems to have an ear for domains. Their collection is an interesting one. If you visit their Pre-Release Auctions section and begin digging for gold, you’ll definitely run into some funny gold. Maybe not as easily commercialized as you’d hoped, but plenty consisting of real words, and you’ll find many potential brand names — that sound like your favorite goofy relative thought it up. Some read like –> Read More
Afternic: No Search Tool
24
Jul 2019
It appears that a significant benefit Afternic derives from having so many partner sellers is that the partners can handle the work of providing some search capability to buyers, because Afternic doesn’t have any such thing. Their database cannot really be searched on their site. On the home page, to start with, Afternic has 3 columns: Premium Domains, Trending, and New Listings. Premium has 7 names there, and –> Read More
Big Companies: Not Liking the ngTLDs?
19
Jul 2019
After checking some ngTLDs the other day, I was a little surprised at certain huge corporations’ not using their .club, .life, .site and other versions of the company name if they owned them. Except Amazon, who has acquired many of their names, and hosted them so they redirect to the main site. For instance, Amazon.tech and Amazon.life are two very nice examples of useful names that could have –> Read More
News – Fake, Fair, Or Indifferent
12
Jun 2018
FakeNews.com sold for $65k at NamesCon in January, but the laws of pseudo-physics say there should be an opposite reaction provoked at the same time. RealNews.com is up and running, for example. So I notice these domains, or similar ones, have attracted interest lately, and are open for offers: TrustedNews.com FairNews.com ImpartialNews.com UncensoredNews.com For anyone looking for some relief from dire-sounding news, there’s an alternate path: RandomGoodNews.com GoodNewsProject.com –> Read More
Registrars and Public Whois
29
May 2018
I thought about simply posting screenshots to show you what you’ll see on the Whois page of various registrars, but this is an evolving situation. I’ve seen changes to Whois within the last 24 hours. What you can do is check a general Whois page, like Whois.com, DomainTools.com, etc. — and if part of the contact info you need isn’t there, check the Whois page of the registrar –> Read More
GDPR & Registrars
26
May 2018
If you hold a lot of domains, your head is probably spinning, or you’ve discovered what migraines are like. GDPR & EU privacy law is causing registrars and ICANN itself to scramble, trying to create policies to protect privacy for EU domain owners, and simultaneously revamp all privacy policies. It’s a mess. Registrars are doing different things. We domain sellers would’ve liked to continue being able to use –> Read More
Domains Containing "And"
20
May 2018
Do you like hand-registering domains? If so, you probably spend a lot of time trying to come up with brandables, great phrases, or trendy words that no one’s bothered with yet, at least in some extensions. Sometimes I’ll make lists of different types of words, and awhile back decided to extend my search to phrases. I made a list of phrases with “and” in the middle. It was –> Read More
Gaming Domains and Live Casinos

GigaDomains has been under major reconstruction — but we’re getting very close! The site will soon display our portfolio and be easily searchable if you want a keyword domain, short name, or a particular category. Some of our best categories are: brandables including both keyword & invented words, scientific and robot names, and LLLLs. Mike has been doing the programming for the site. And then he’ll have his –> Read More
GigaDomains Update
09
May 2018
GigaDomains is still under construction, and it’ll be a major overhaul. Soon this new version will be public, where you’ll be able to search our portfolio by keyword, look at all we have under a category, check out our short names and be able to contact us. Mike is doing the entire site, and the programming is extensive. He does our other sites, too. Some are not commercialized –> Read More
Think Laterally
01
May 2018
There was a British TV mystery show called Midsomer Murders with a detective who always told his sergeant, “Think laterally.” And of course his advice was always right, because solving mysteries on TV usually presents villains being inventive and unexpected. He’s telling his detective, Look at other ways something can be accomplished. So it goes too, if you want a memorable, succinct domain — which of course you do — but can’t come up –> Read More
Brandables, Keywords & Companies
21
Mar 2017
One of the most thoughtful domainers I can think of is Keith deBoer, and when his columns appear on DNGeek I always stop to read them — they’re always good. Yesterday’s post, concerning WealthFront and its list of most-desirable companies, was extremely relevant and interesting — and the list itself gave me a (nice) surprise, because a name we sold to the present owner is on it: Ipsy. The WealthFront list is something –> Read More
