Domains The Big Tech Companies Register

Because we own a number of tech and industrial domains, I thought it would be useful to analyze exactly what domains are owned by some of the big tech/industrial corporations. The RobbiesBlog lists posted regularly on Domaining.com are often of very significant companies with regard to this aim, so I tired my eyes out by taking a close look at the GE (General Electric) list. I’m really impressed with this one. The recent Comcast list was full of misspellings of their company names; they own even the silly Exphinity.com, I think, along with every other wrong way to write their name.

But GE registered tons of invented brand names and many of these are now fully operating big companies on their own, representing their own technologies. I thought I’d post my notes from that list.

These domains caught my notice:

  • coincidence.com
  • creda.com
  • cyberteque.com
  • cybricon.com
  • d-mensions.com
  • d-agnosis.com
  • datscan.com
  • deepwatersolutions.net
  • destroyyourbusiness.com, .net
  • ecell.com
  • echoseed.com
  • edisonelite.com
  • edisonsdesk.com

DaTScan (a radioactive drug used for imaging made by GE Healthcare), EchoSeed (Nycomed Amersham[GE Healthcare], also made OncoSeed, therapy for prostate patients using Iodine-125), EcoRAM (more compact computer storage, owned by Virident/Western Digital), Edison Elite (orthotic insoles or Elite Lighting and Edison Price Lighting),

  • Formasil.com — In their company GE Silicones, they make a waterproof coating called Formasil.
  • FurniturePolish.net
  • FromDNAtoNDA.com — I really wonder about this one, esp. as it redirects to GE Healthcare. And what are they up to with that DestroyYourBusiness.com?
  • GEAirConditioners.com
  • GEAircraft.com — uh oh. Here we go.
  • GEAuto.com
  • GEAutoInsurance.com
  • GEBank.org, .info, .tv

  • GEBeats.com
  • GEBucks.com
  • GEBuilder.com
  • GECafe.com

  • GELED.com — their line of LED bulbs
  • GEMarine.com
  • GEMoney.com, .us, .org — this financial company was set up quite a few years ago. It became GE Capital.
  • GEZenith.com — LG bought the original Zenith TV company, and this isn’t that. GE invested in a company in Ireland called Zenith which does software for pharma.
  • Neurolume.com
  • Optira.us — the .com is a company for building/architectural using laser scanning. GE would probably use it for medical.
  • OvonicMedia.com — a certain type of batteries, generic name not brand I think, before combining it with “media.”
  • OSISpecialties.com — silicones again.
  • PII-Au.com — they own a bunch of names beginning with PII, which probably stands for Personally Identifiable Information, which would be info needed for finding/tracking an individual. Privacy solutions, confidential data protection?
  • Plastivision.com
  • PraxisFuels.com
  • Predix.com — Software platform from GE Digital, cloud applications
  • Pressure.com

  • SD90.com — in case you like mixed 4 characters.
  • Sonazoid.com — this is Perfluorobutane, used in medicine for imaging. Brand.
  • Steam-Portal.com
  • Stay-Fresh.com
  • Steripet.com — again, medicine used for imaging. Brand.
  • Superprism.com
  • Superfrac.com — a device or “tray” used in handling or moving liquids or vapor flow in petrochem industries. The namesake product is made by Koch-Glitsch, not GE.
